Welcome to MediMeet. By accessing or using our platform and services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions, which govern your use of MediMeet. Please read these terms carefully before registering or using the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering as a patient, healthcare provider, or any other user (“User”) on the MediMeet platform, you agree to comply fully with these Terms and Conditions, as well as all applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of South Africa. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use or access MediMeet’s services.

2. Description of Services

MediMeet operates as an online healthcare platform that facilitates connections between patients and licensed healthcare providers for purposes including appointment scheduling, consultations (both virtual and in-person), billing, and medical practice management. MediMeet itself does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not replace professional healthcare services.

3. User Responsibilities and Conduct

Users warrant that all information they submit to MediMeet is accurate, complete, and up to date. Patients are responsible for providing truthful medical histories and details, while healthcare providers must maintain valid licenses, registrations, and comply with all professional regulatory requirements. Users agree to use the platform responsibly, not to engage in any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activities, and to keep their login credentials confidential and secure at all times.

4. Accuracy of Information

MediMeet makes every reasonable effort to ensure that the information displayed on the platform is accurate and reliable. However, we do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of user-submitted data, medical content, or third-party information. Users acknowledge that medical information may change and should be confirmed with a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MediMeet, its directors, employees, affiliates, agents, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Any inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information provided by Users on the platform.

  • Loss, corruption, unauthorized access, or disclosure of data, except when caused by MediMeet’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

  • The use, misuse, or inability to use MediMeet’s services or platform in violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

  • Any claim arising from medical decisions or actions taken based on information accessed through the platform.

6. Limitation of Liability

MediMeet and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss arising from the use or inability to use the platform or services. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory under which such damages may be claimed, including negligence, breach of contract, or statutory duty. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by MediMeet’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of MediMeet is subject to our Privacy Policy, which outlines how personal and medical data are collected, processed, stored, and protected in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and other relevant regulations. MediMeet commits to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring that data ownership remains with healthcare providers, with no unauthorized sharing or selling of personal information.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, software, content, and designs on the MediMeet platform, are owned by MediMeet or its licensors. Users may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the platform content without prior written consent from MediMeet.

9. Account Suspension and Termination

MediMeet reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate a User’s access to the platform and services, without prior notice, in cases of breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or unlawful conduct. Upon termination, Users must cease all use of MediMeet services immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

MediMeet may revise or update these Terms and Conditions periodically to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or platform functionality. The updated Terms will be posted on the MediMeet website, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Users are encouraged to review the Terms regularly.
